High Tech Toys for Big Boys (and Girls)
I have had these boxes sitting on a tray in my office for several months now. I kept thinking that if I looked at them long enough I would think of something to say about them. The truth is, I haven't thought of a thing. I am just not "in" to new fangled toys and gadgets. I hate mechanical things, I neither understand nor like anything electrical and although much of my life is spent on the computer these days, I don't understand it and I will keep the one I have until I have no further use for a computer. I have never been one for anything that was drastically different than the article I was used to using for the same purpose. I always hated getting a new car. It was much more satisfying to have the old one restored and I did that a number of times. To me older is always better. At ten years of age, a car is like an old friend and I don't get rid of old friends. I still have friends from my teens, from college and from the early days of my first marriage and believe me, that was a long time ago. I have forced myself to learn to use my Epson printer and my scanner and that's about as far as I am willing to go. I do have to say that the reason I bought these boxes was I like to be thought of as up-to-date but the truth will out and I guess this is where that happens.

A.The Printer Box. There is a little chap who lives inside this printer and races madly back and forth between it and the computer, each time bringing back another part of whatever it is that is being printed, in this case--The Seine River, the Eiffel Tower and the Pont Neuf--all in the heart of Paris. The "paper" it is printed on is dimensional and removable. Retail: About $241.00. Our price: $216.90.

B. The Digital Camera Box. This is just too small for anyone to be inside it so there has to be another explanation but darned if I know what it is. All I know is that you put a disk into it, point it at something, press a button and then another button and you see the picture that has just been taken. It comes with a disk and the picture just taken, Paris from the Pont Neuf. Retail: About $245.00. Our price: $219.90.

C. The Camcorder Box. I think that there is a miniature motion picture crew living inside of this box and they produce the movies for you. They just did one with a set in Paris over-looking the River Seine. One of the scenes in the picture is showing on the Camcorder right now. Inside "I Love Paris!" and my answer to that is "I do, too, despite the fact that it is inhabited by people like Monsieur Chirac." Retail: About $245.00. Our price: $219.90.

D. The Photographers Box. This is my idea of what a camera should look like. And the camera man is just adorable! Is this the cutest thing or what? An old fashioned still camera with that funny flash gun filled with powder that ignited and created the flash they used to use before flash bulbs were invented. A long time ago. Don't you just love the Doxie in that snappy vest of his? This has got to be one of the cutest boxes ever. Inside is the flash!!! The clasp is unimportant to the box. The box is 2 1/4 inches high and 1 1/2 inches in diameter, tiny indeed. Notice the photographer's eye as a result of the recent flash. Our price: $209.90.
