The Hermitage Museum Egg features an unbelievably detailed depiction of the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. The museum was founded by Catherine The Great in 1764. It adjoined the Winter Palace and served as a gallery to house the Empress' art collection. Under Nicholas I the Hermitage was reconstructed and opened to the public in 1852. Today it consists of 5 buildings which include the Winter Palace and the Small, Old, and New Hermitages. The Egg stands on a Romanov Dynasty Double Eagle Pedestal. Retail: About $650.00. Our price: $585.00.
