Fabergé Christmas
Egg Ornaments
These exquisite bibelots inspired by the original Fabergé masterpieces
have been designed as Christmas ornaments to be hung from the tree
on their matching silken cords. Each egg is framed in gold, the clasp
an elaborate gold "ribbon" bow set with a matching brilliant
cut Austrian crystal. The Eggs are done in enamel guilloché,
the ground engraved in a wave pattern that lends enormous brilliance
to the color. Fabergé was the master of this process and was
renowned the world over for his guilloché technique which
had never before or since been equaled. Today's Fabergé uses
this original technique.
The center face of each Egg carries the Romanov cipher studded
in Austrian crystals. The Eggs open to reveal a velvet lined
interior and can be used as a most fabulous gift box for a small
piece of
jewelry such as a ring, a pin, earings or a delicate pendant. When not in use they stand on the Fabergé Egg Stand which
is sterling silver plated in 24 karat gold. The stand is just under
