Limoges Porcelain Boxes

Children's Collection 3 Continued
There are boxes relating to children's stories, the group represented here are for a slightly older child. They are not all fairy tales but closely resemble them with one major difference, some of these stories had true authors and were not folk tales ever, whereas most fairy tales have been passed down for hundreds if not thousands of years with no knowledge of who originally authored them. Lewis Carrol, who wrote Alice in Wonderland, one of the great classic children's tales, Beatrix Potter who wrote the Peter Cottontail series, another enormous favorite, and others much like them, were incredibly inventive, imaginative authors whose stories still have their original appeal and continue being enjoyed by each new generation. From One Thousand and One Nights, the Tale of Aladdin and His Magic Lamp is a fairy tale that can be dated back to 470BC. This collection of imaginative and quite different stories comes from various areas of the East and the Mediterranean region. They have traced some of these stories to the countries now known as Iraq and Iran as well as India. What is so very interesting is that these tales are longer lived than most of the books that have ever been written with the exception of The Bible. What is also very interesting is that they are translated into dozens of languages and read by children the world over with no regard from whence they came. Kids are kids no matter their country. They haven't yet learned the good things like malice, hate and venom.
