The candle-light boxes have been so popular, they are such a wonderful gift for just about any "femme", whatever her age, that we decided to expand our selection of them. Below you will find four brand new patterns designed to go just about anywhere in the home; on a nightstand, a dining table, an end table. They would even be lovely in a powder room or on a dressing table. They really do fit in perfectly where ever you choose to use them.

G. "Histoire Naturelle, Le Papillon" Windsong designed by Pamela Baldwin for Raynaud. Delicate tendrils of vine wind about the box with delicately colored butterflies and a lone bumblebee for the accent. Naturally, a scented candle inside. Retail: About $125.00. Our price: $112.90.

Note: In doing some porcelain research recently I discovered that "Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux" which appears above as the name given to two of the Candle Light boxes, refers to a book written by Compte Georges-Louis Leclerc de Buffon. It was published in repeated editions between 1770 and 1786. There were 1008 illustrations in the book, all drawn by Francois Nicholas Martinet and they were color printed "in colours by a method unequalled before or since and touched up by hand." I thought it might interest you to know how table ware designers, in this case, are inspired. My source for this was "Complete Encyclopedia of Antiques" published by Hawthorne Books in 1962.
