Boites Classique et Parfum 4 In these pages I have, more than once, mentioned that my love of porcelain
started when I was very young, and came as the result of my Mother and
her passionate porcelain collecting. We lived with this huge collection
of porcelain on a daily basis and it was all over the house, not just
displayed on a shelf or two. I recall a huge Sevres vase standing on the
corner step of the turn of the stair leading to the second floor of the
house and a pair of antique "What Not" shelves on either side of the living
room fireplace, her collection of porcelain cups and saucers, dozens of
them, from France, England, Germany, displayed there. I can remember once
hearing someone ask why she had so many and her answer was, "I never saw
one that I didn't like." Well, that's kind of how I am with Limoges classical
boxes. I rarely see one that I don't like. U. The Mandolin Box. This was a commonly used shape, in the early
days of Limoges boxes. Because it could so easily be handed around it
was generally used for either snuff or bonbons. This one in a delicate
pink with a charming bas relief floral on the box top. A violin is the
clasp and there is a tiny gold link chain for hanging. Retail: $159.00.
Our price: $143.90. Insider's Special: $123.90. W. The Antique Tobacco Leaf Pattern Box. A simple round shape
displays a detail of the famous old Tobacco Leaf pattern done against
a ground of pale celadon, the pattern in shades of blue, green, pink and
coral. Many of you love that pattern, having bought it previously on other
shapes. The clasp, a replica of the central flower of the motif. Our price:
$167.90. NEW* X. Elayne's Favorite Compact Box. In my Mother's Limoges Box
Collection, she had a number of them, all antiques, there was one that
was my favorite.
It was a compact box and it had a framed mirror inside of it. I have
looked many times trying to find something like that box and never,
until now,
have I found it. When I saw this box I admired it but it was not until
I opened it that I knew I had to have it. There, inside, was the framed
mirror for which I had been searching. The box has a slightly domed lid,
the framework and clasp are antiqued gold, and the base and rim of the
lid are in a deep shade of blue. A vine winds it's way around the base,
in the same gold as the frame, and the clasp is an open rose. The butterflies
of the lid design are almost transparent, they are so delicately painted,
and one is repeated inside the box. Our price: $209.90. NEW* but
copied from an antique box. Sorry, the following item is Sold Out. To find out more about ordering, Click
