Libraries are magical places. Enter one and within minutes you can be
transported to another time, another place, another life. Reading can
make you laugh, can make you learn, can make you yearn for other places,
other centuries, other worlds than yours. It can provide you greater understanding
of things you know and of things about which before, you knew nothing.
It can inspire you, make you wish for and desire, greater knowledge of
all things. Best of all, without stirring from your place, you can roam
the world and learn about almost anything on the face of this earth. All
yours for the price of a few hours of your time. Sorry, the following item is no longer available.
H. Recently uncovered, a new clue, Dr.Watson's Medical Bag Box.
Holmes had his magnifying glass and Watson the instruments of his own profession.
Open this box and in the very bottom of it, hand painted in enormous detail,
all of the instruments "The Good Doctor" used. How the artist painted them
in such a place is a mystery that only Holmes could solve. On the outside
a stethoscope dangling from the bag, painted, and a caduceus, also painted.

I. For the pharmacist, The Apothecary Weights Chest Box.
Long before digital measurements were even thought of, pharmacists used
this
method of weighing medications in the preparation of prescriptions. Each
individual weight was an exact amount which balanced an equal amount on
the other side of the pharmacists scale. A complete set of six weights,
each a different size, all removable, in a "wooden" chest with a dimensional
prescription pad and pencil resting on the lid and a "brass" plaque with
a pharmacist's scale on the front of the box. A quill pen the closing.

J. The Study of Higher Mathematics Box. It takes a wise owl to read
this tome. The base of the box has a spine, just as a real book has, and
the detail on this minuscule box, 1" x 1 3/8", could only have been done
by Parry Vieille. Retail: Upwards of $120.00. Our price: $102.90. Insider's

K. "The Merchant of Venice" Box. From Shakespeare's play came the
following: "The quality of mercy is not strain'd, It droppeth as the gentle
rain from heaven, Upon the place beneath." And, "All that glitters is not
gold". And, "In the twinkling of an eye." And, "But love is blind, and lovers
cannot see, The pretty follies that themselves commit." And, "It is a wise
father that knows his own child." And endless other quotations that have
become daily used in our language. Isn't it remarkable that one man can
have written all of these? And as part of one play? A scene from the play
covers the box and inside, removable, a tiny mask that is so perfectly sculpted
I gasped when I saw it. The mask is 3/4" wide, minuscule. Happy surprise,
the inside of the box is gold washed. Retail: $261.00. Our price: $221.90.
NEW and marvelous. Insider's Special: $189.90
L. The School Teachers Box. What is more identifiable with a teacher
than a Blackboard?
This is literally The Perfect Gift for either your child's teacher or
a young person about to start on a teaching career. The writing on the

of the alphabet and starting sums for learning addition. There is a dimensional
eraser resting on the blackboard ledge and below, with a hook for hanging,
the teacher's attaché case which opens and has, inside, a dimensional
arithmetic book which is removable. A lovely way to say "Thank You"
to someone who has spent a year teaching your child and a delightful "You're
