At The Waters Edge

Whether you are at the beach or lakeside or even lying poolside in the backyard, there is nothing like the gentle lapping sound of water to relax you. Somehow the cares of the world seem to fade away when you are lying on a beach chair gazing at far away places in your mind's eye. Lying on the sand feeling the heat of the sun soothe your body while you listen to the sounds of the waves coming on shore does it in a moment. It's a totally free from care feeling that you get. You actually feel lighter. It's the movement and sound of the water that does it. Thinking about it, it brings to my mind the amniotic fluid that cradles us before birth. We may not consciously remember what it felt like to be ensconced in that but I think that tucked away in some remote corner of our memory, there is an imprint of a deeply hidden sense of being completely protected and safe. Subconscious recall is what awakens the lovely feeling one gets when we are close to water. Of course, that's only my theory and a psychiatrist might well have a few other words to say about it including a few about me and my theories.

A. The Stars and Stripes Beach Chair Box. When you arrived you set up your snazzy new beach chair, hooked your baseball cap on the corner of the chair, dropped your sunglasses -- they match -- on the seat and ran off to take your first swim of the day. In this case, 2 plates and 2 cups done in red and white stripes with blue borders trimmed in white stars, 2 blue napkins with red napkin rings and red and white checked napkins with folded cloth The wicker basket is trimmed to match. C. The Beaching It in Style Cabana Box. Notice that it is done to match our other boxes and makes one great group if you collect by theme. See our red and white striped beach umbrella and the red and white lifesaver. Our cabana has a panoramic view of the entire beach, painted on it. It also has a watering can, in relief, a thatched roof, in relief, and please knock before opening the door because I am inside, changing. The clasp is an anchor. Retail: About $295.00. D. Oh look, when we opened the Cabana one of the kids had left a Sand Pail Box behind. Isn't it the cutest thing? It has the whole beach pictured on it with our beach umbrella and the row of nearby cabanas in their red and white stripes, a beach ball, a fish, a great big sun, a life ring,and inside of it, a sand shovel, a shell and a tiny sailboat -- all dimensional. Inside the box, another beach umbrella, painted and the clasp is a Teddy Bear. Retail: $241.00. Our price: $214.90. Just arrived and the best of it's kind that I have ever seen.

E. The Bermuda Dunes Beach Chair Box. Fanciful tropic fish do their swimming on the sling of the chair. Your sun hat is tossed on the top of it, sun glasses thrown on the seat and you're off floating in the bluest water imaginable. Ever notice how blue tropical waters are? They are almost unreal. Under the seat, cattails growing in the sand. Inside the box, nothing, and the clasp is unimportant to the box. Retail: About $215.00. Our price: $193.90. Just arrived.

F. The Bermuda Dunes Brunch Basket Box. A wicker basket fitted with sea blue dishes featuring star fish and shells, red napkins and tiny brass napkin rings. G. The Bermuda Dunes Beach Box. A couple of Coconut Palms with a hammock strung between. How do I know they are Coconut Palms? Coconuts are hanging from one of them. Doesn't that hammock look inviting? It's won me over. I am ready to climb in and drift off to far away places. Maybe even take a nap. Wouldn't that be nice! Lying there, swaying gently in the breeze, the sound of the water just a few feet away as it meets the sand. Heaven on earth. Retail: About $195.00. Our price: $175.90.
